2013 was a weird and pivotal year for me.

My creativity was flowing great. I was exploring patterns and layering. I was also fixated on being in the wake of Arab Spring and all the heartbreak of what was happening in Syria at the time. I was looking at picture after picture, young women who just by chance of birth were there casually holding machine guns. Witnessing their hope for change and a better future turn to blood. All of this weaved its way into my work.
